The 100 years' war really wasn't 100 years long. It was really 116(1337-1453) years long. They didn't really fight for 116 years strait they usually fought small battles. It was a war fought between England and France. The reason why the 100 years' started was because the France and England thought that they owned the land. So they started to fight over it. The war was fought in France. France wasn't a united kingdom at the beginning of the war. The land really had belonged to Egland though through the bloodline or past kings and queens. One really big figure in the 100 years' war was Joan of Arc. She won many battles for the french but the English said that she was a which when she was captured in a battle and the English burned her alive. Over the 116 years of small battles and raids the French finally drove England out of France and won the war without making a treaty.
